Livathos (Greek Λειβαθός often Livatho Λειβαθό ( f sg ) ), official long form: Δήμος Λειβαθούς, formerly Italian Liváto, from 1997 to 2010, a municipality in the homonymous valley on Kefalonia. It was located southeast of Argostoli and went in 2010 in the newly created municipality of Cephalonia on in which it has since formed a district with 11 villages.

Although it has always been a very fertile valley with good soil, the inhabitants of the Marine turned to almost all owners of the island come from there. Attractions

In the northern part of the village, adjacent to Argostoli, are the fortress and the village of Agios Georgios. The Citadel ( " Borgo " ) was from 1262 the seat of the Count Palatine of Cephalonia. The lush vegetation of the village of Lourdas can be explored via a designated hiking trail of the Society archipelago. The circular trail starts at the platia, the village square, and takes about two and a half hours.
