Lekwa is a municipality in the district of Gert Sibande, Mpumalanga province in South Africa, based in Standerton. The mayor is Caroline Matsidiso Morajane.

The municipality is named after the Zulu word Ligwa for the River Vaal, which flows through the town.

2011 Lekwa had 117 833 inhabitants and an area of 4603 square kilometers.

Villages in the municipality are: Bettiesdam, Elmtree, Holmdene, Maizefield, Meyer Ville, Morgenzon, Platrand, Roberts drift, Standerton and Stanfield Hill.
