Leland Irving

Leland Irving ( born April 11, 1988 in Barrhead, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since August 2013 in Helsinki Jokerit in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Leland Irving started his career as a hockey player with the Everett Silvertips, for by 2008 he was active from 2003 in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League, where he had an average of less than two goals per game in three seasons, where he was a regular goalkeeper. In his time with the Silvertips, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 in the first round than a total of 26 players from the Calgary Flames for their farm team, the Quad City Flames, he in the 2008/09 season his debut in the American Hockey League gave. In his rookie year in the AHL, he pointed it at a Gegentorschnitt 2.23 and a catch quota of 91.2 %. Since 2009, the Canadian is Calgary's new AHL farm team Abbotsford Heat between the posts, while also having eight games for the Victoria Salmon Kings in the ECHL played in the 2009/10 season. In the season 2010/11 Irving, who played 61 matches in the regular season with eight shutouts achieved a personal best, as a goalkeeper in Abbotsford through after it in the previous season more often between the posts by David Shantz and Matt Keetley sat had been represented. During the following season Irving debuted for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League. After the 2012/13 season, his contract ran out with the Flames and Irving moved to Jokerit Helsinki to Euorpa from the SM- liiga.

Internationally

For Canada, Irving took part in the U20 Junior World Cup 2007, in which he became world champion with his team. As a goalkeeper, he remained without use.
