Leland is a city in Washington County, Mississippi, United States. Their population was 5502 (2000 ) in the census.

The city is located in the heart of the Blue region of the Mississippi Delta on the shores of Deer Creek and has a number of major national and regional blues musicians spawned. The Highway 61, famous for its mention in a number of Blue recordings, runs right through the city and is eponymous for the local Blue Museum.

In Leland is a small museum dedicated to Jim Henson, the inventor of the Muppet Show. Henson was born in neighboring Greenville, and invented in Leland Kermit the frog.
