Lemnos (regional unit)

The Regional District of Limnos (Greek Periferiaki Enotita Limnou Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Λήμνου ) is one of five regional districts of the Greek region of North Aegean. It was formed on the occasion of the administrative reform in 2010 of two island communities of the former Lesbos Prefecture. Proportional to its 17,262 inhabitants sent to the field four deputies in the regional council, but has no more political significance than local authority. It is divided into the two islands and communities Agios Efstratios and Limnos.
