Lemon pepper

Lemon pepper is a spice mixture of crushed peppercorns and granulated lemon zest. He is not to be confused with the Indonesian lemon pepper, a variety of Szechuanpfeffers.

In the manufacture of peppercorns and lemon rind are mixed, so that the pepper receives the citrus oil, and then the mixture is baked and dried, and can then be used as a seasoning. However, commercially available lemon pepper is usually no such spice mixture, but a seasoning salt, pepper and lemon in addition as the main ingredient contains salt and often other additives such as garlic, herb mixes, sugar, glutamate, turmeric, aroma and the like. Lemon pepper can also be produced even.

Originally it was used mainly to flavor fish dishes, but it also goes well with chicken, salads, potatoes and tomatoes.
