Lemuy ( Mapudungun for forested ) is an island in the south of Chile in the Región de los Lagos. It is the third largest island of the Chiloé Archipelago Chiloé by itself and Quinchao. It has an area of ​​97 km ². The island is dominated by agriculture, easy to reach and slightly hilly with an hourly car ferry from the larger Isla de Chiloé.

On the island there are nine towns, which together form the Municipality ( Communa ) Puqueldón with 4125 inhabitants.

On the north coast:

On the south coast:

  • Chulchuy. From here the ferry operates according to Huicha far from Chonchi on the larger neighboring island of Chiloé.

The church, Iglesia San Jesús Nazareno in Aldachildo on the north coast of Isla Lemuy was built in the late 19th century and declared on 10 August 1999 to the National cultural monument before it was recorded in November 2000 in the World Heritage Site.
