Len Duncan

Leonard " Len " Duncan ( born July 25, 1911 in New York City, New York; † August 1, 1998 in Lansdale, Pennsylvania) was an American race car driver.

Midget Cars

Duncan began to drive 1928 Midget car racing. In his career, he won 1955-1967 eight times the championship of the American Racing Drivers Club ( ARDC ). In the 1940s, he once served as a chauffeur by U.S. President Truman during a visit to England.

Champ Cars

Duncan started 1946-1963 in six races for the AAA National Series. His best result was a seventh place he drove into Trenton in 1957. Once started at the 500 miles of Indianapolis. From the last place on the grid as possible, he handed his Schroeder- Offenhauser after 56 rounds at George Fonder, which then turned out on lap 101 with a brake failure. ( Change drivers were permitted at that time). Since the 500 miles of Indianapolis from 1950 to 1960 included with the drivers' world championship, is also a Grand Prix start in the statistics.
