Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham ( born May 13, 1986 in New York City ) is an American actress, film producer, film director and screenwriter.

Life

Lena Dunham is the daughter of the painter Carroll Dunham Protestant and Jewish artist and photographer Laurie Simmons. Her younger sister is the model Grace Dunham. She attended Saint Ann 's School in Brooklyn and graduated in 2008 graduated with a Bachelor in Creative Writing at Oberlin College from. In 2009 she made her debut with the tragicomedy Creative Nonfiction as an actress, film director and writer with a long feature film. Since 2012 she is a producer, screenwriter, director and lead actress in the HBO series Girls. For this she was at the Emmy Awards 2012 for three Emmys in the categories of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series nominations. 2013 Dunham won for Girls Golden Globe Award for Best Television Actress in a Comedy or Musical.
