Lenaia

The Lenaia (Greek Λήναια Lenaia Germanized, also Lenaea ) were in ancient Greece festivals in honor of the god Dionysus. They found probably originally in Lenaion, the sacred precinct of Dionysus Lenaios in the Agora of Athens instead, since the mid-5th century BC in the theater of Dionysus on the southeastern slope of the Acropolis.

The three-day festival took place in January / February. In contrast to the Dionysia, the focus was on the comedies, of which five were listed, but only two tragedies ( and no satyr plays ).
