Lengenbostel

Lengenbostel is a municipality in the Lower Saxon Sittingbourne in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme ). In addition to the main town Lengenbostel neither it belongs Freetz to the community.

History

In the municipality there are several Neolithic finds from oven pits and cremation graves fields that originate from the period of about 2000 BC.

The place Freetz in 1263 mentioned the Fredesloh first time as tho.

More recently, several skeletons were found on fossil whales of the Miocene in the Glimmertongrube in Freetz.

Incorporations

On March 1, 1974, the previously independent municipalities Lengenbostel and Freetz were combined in the course of municipal reform. Freetz been independent since 1949, while it previously belonged to Kalbe since 1848.
