Lennart Johanssons Pokal

The Lennart Johansson Cup is a trophy in Swedish football. It is named after the long-time UEFA President Lennart Johansson.

Background

The designed by silversmith Ingelar Eklund Trophy is awarded to the Swedish champions since 2001. It replaced the 2000 awarded to Von Rosen's Cup after it was discovered that the named Clarence von Rosen, first chairman of the Swedish Football Association, was active for National Socialism. The design of the trophy is inspired by the Cup, the Swedish national team received after winning the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in 1948.

Since 2005, the Swedish champion gets in women's football as a trophy, the Kronprinsessan Victoria's Cup.

Vandalism in the trophy

After persistent rumors were in circulation, Eklund had the words " BAJEN forever" - BAJEN is the nickname of the Stockholm club Hammarby IF, whose followers had died in 2010 Eklund - engraved into the inside of the cup, the Svenska Fotbollförbundet examined after the end of the 2010 Master Cup. The investigation revealed an inscription, this was however " Djurgården är bäst " and various names. When Eingravur Master Malmö FF the vandalism was removed.
