Lentinan is one of the shiitake mushroom ( Lentinula edodes ) isolated substance.

Chemically, it is a glucan, two β -1 ,6 -glycosidic branches come on five monomers linear β -1 ,3 -glycosidically linked. The molecular weight of the polymers is 400000-800000 daltons.

Lentinan is to act immunomodulatory and antineoplastic, there are few toxicological data. In Japan, lentinan - containing infusion preparation for adjuvant cancer therapy is marketed since 2000.
