History

The station was opened by the Aargau southern runway at June 23, 1874 together with the route Rupperswil Wohlen. Three years later, when the Swiss National Railway on 6 September 1877, the route opened Zofingen -Baden Upper Town, the train station at a junction station was. For the Seetalbahn the station is a terminus since October 15, 1883. The extension of the Seetalbahn after Wildegg on October 1, 1895 touched the station not, but branched off at the hairpin Lenzburg. To drive from the train station to Lenzburg Wildegg always had to be made a hairpin. The oddity was with the closure of the route Lenzburg hairpin -Wildegg an end.

Special

A special feature is that the track 1 of the station is the northernmost drive-through track and not, as usual, the track next to the station building.

The Seetalbahn leaves from the station square on the other side of the station building. However, between there is still a road. From the Seetalbahn can also be reached on the former SNB route to Suhr.
