Leo Boivin

Leo Joseph Boivin ( born August 2, 1932 in Prescott, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach, who from 1952 to 1970 for the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota North Stars in the National Hockey League played.

With seven years Bovon began on a frozen river with ice hockey games. Early on, he knew he wanted to be a defender. After the Maple Leafs had acquired the rights to Boivin of the Bruins, he made his debut in 1952 in Toronto. As one of the best defensive back in the NHL the Bruins in 1954 brought him back. Boivin helped the Bruins to two Stanley Cup finals in the late 50s and was also in Detroit in the finals. However, he was not able to win a title.

In the mid-1970s, he was briefly twice coach of the St. Louis Blues. In 1986, he was honored with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
