Leo Bunk comes from the young areas of the FC Augsburg and TSV 1860 Munich. In 1981 he made the jump to the professional squad of second division, but had to descend into the Bavarian League in his first season with 1860 Munich. After a season in the Bayern League Bunk left the lion toward blue and white 90 Berlin, where the striker had his most successful athletic time.
He scored in his first season, 1984/85 in Berlin 14 goals, so he made in 1986 with Blue-White 90 promotion to the Bundesliga, Bunk was in the same year scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga with 26 goals and had thus been instrumental in this success. After climbing Bunk moved to league rivals VfB Stuttgart, where he played only one season after disagreements with coach Arie Haan scored at 23 events in which he played through only twice, only one gate ( in the very first game).
1987 Bunk hired again for three years at Alemannia Aachen and Stuttgart Kickers in the 2nd Bundesliga. His career was at Bayern division side FC Augsburg, as player-coach at SC Altenmuenster and the VSC 1862 Donauwörth finish.
