Leo Gerstenzang

Leo Gerstenzang ( born June 3, 1892 in Warsaw, † October 1973 in the United States) was an American and Polish inventor and entrepreneur.

Life

Gerstenzang grew up in Warsaw. In 1912 he emigrated to the United States and lived first in Chicago and later in New York City. Gerstenzang is considered the inventor of the modern cotton swab to clean the ears. In 1923 he invented the cotton swabs Q -Tips, which was first called Baby Gays and was renamed in 1926 in Q-tips. Gerstenzang founded the company Infant Novelty Company.
