Leo Leandros

Leo Leandros real name: Λέανδρος Παπαθανασίου ( Leandros Papathanassiou ), born August 23, 1926 in Astacus, Aetolia - Acarnania (Greece ) is a Greek composer, singer, songwriter and music producer. He is the father of Vicky Leandros.

Life

Leo Leandros was in the 1950s, a successful singer in his home country. Then he came to Germany and was also here with pop -known, for the first time in 1957 with his version of Banana Boat Song, who came in the top 20 in the singles charts. In 1960, he had reached his greatest success Mustafa, the space 2. He also founded the ensemble The Five Tops, which in 1965 with the German version of Rag Doll scored a Top 10 hit.
