Leo McKern

Reginald Leo McKern, AO or Leo McKern ( born March 16, 1920 in Sydney, † 23 July 2002 Bath) was an Australian actor. He has appeared in numerous British television programs and movies, and more than 200 stage roles. He was appointed in 1983 as an officer of the Order of Australia.

Life and work

His first film was 1952 Murder in the Cathedral. He became known as an evil saint in Beatle movie Hi- Hi- help! In 1965 and as an exorcist Bugenhagen in doomsday horror film The Omen 1976. 1989, he was honored at the London Critics Circle Film Awards for Best Actor.

At the age of 82 years he succumbed to his diabetes in a nursing home near Bath in England.
