Leon Clarke

Leon Marvin Clarke (born 10 February 1985 in Wolverhampton) is an English footballer. The striker comes from the youth academy of Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he was then, however, the permanent breakthrough in the first team did not succeed. Since 2013 he is at Coventry City under contract.

Sports career

Wolverhampton Wanderers (until 2007)

Already as a student played Clarke in his native city in the youth department of the Wolverhampton Wanderers, attended the Academy of the club and came on 23 September 2003 in the League Cup against FC Darlington (2-0 ) to its first competitive match commitment to the professional team. However, in the Premier League, he received no possibility of parole during this season. Instead, the diligent attacker was loaned in the spring of 2004 for two weeks to the fourth division Kidderminster Harriers, where he came four times to the course and on March 27, 2004 against Lincoln City (1:1) as a substitute his first professional league game completed. Also during the 2005/ 06 season Clarke denied a number of games, but he fired in 24 games only one hit. After only a week and a game for the Queens Park Rangers he helped out by the end of the season at Plymouth Argyle. Sheffield Wednesday ( 2007-10 )

On 15 January 2007 with Brian Laws was the new manager of Sheffield Wednesday the signing of Leon Clarke to the end of the 2008/09 season known. About the transfer fee was not disclosed; it was after media reports but in about 300,000 pounds. It did not take long that the newcomer, after he had not even been in the starting lineup, was lent to the third-tier Oldham Athletic and there scored three goals in five league games. In late August 2007, Clarke was loaned a second time and remained until the year at Southend United in the Football League One. Queens Park Rangers (2010-2011)

In June 2010, Clarke signed for Queens Park Rangers a new two-year contract and moved free transfer to the club.
