Leon Dabo
Leon Dabo ( born July 9, 1864 in Paris, France, according to other sources 1865, 1868, 1869 or 1870, in Detroit or Grosse Pointe, † November 7, 1960 in Manhattan, New York) was an American landscape painter of Tonalism.
Life
In World War Dabo worked for the French secret service. Dabo was influenced by John La Farge, Pierre Puvis de Chavannes and James Abbott McNeill Whistler and in 1934 Knight of the Légion d' honneur. His brother Scott Dabo was also a painter.
