Léon Gozlan

Léon Gozlan ( born September 1, 1803 in Marseille, † September 14, 1866 in Paris) was a French writer.

Life and work

Léon Gozlan came in 1828 to Paris, where he began as a Commission in a bookstore, then the employee was Figaro and Corsaire and wrote in the course of time, a series of novels and short stories, most of which were also translated into German.

From a history of the castles of France, which he began, only two volumes were published under the title: Les tourelles (1839 ). At the same time Gozlan also worked as a dramatic writer. The Théatre Odéon received from him the spectacle of La main droite et la main gauche (1842 ).

Léon Gozlan died 13 days after his 63rd birthday on 14 September 1866 in Paris and found in the Cimetière de Montmartre, a final resting place.
