Leon Parker

Leon Parker ( born August 21, 1965 in White Plains, New York) is an American jazz drummer.

Biography

Parker began playing drums at age 11 and enjoyed in his youth, a classical education. Under the guidance of Barry Harris, he devoted himself to the study of jazz. He recorded his debut album with Harvie S. He went on tour with Sheila Jordan and entered, inter alia, with Kenny Barron on. His wife Lisa is a flautist who toured with him in 1989 by Portugal and Spain. He is known for the reduction of his drum set; sometimes he worked only with pool.

His best-selling album to date Awakening was recorded with Columbia Records in 1998 and made ​​it into the Top 20 of the Billboard Top Jazz Album.
