Leon (singer)

Leon ( born April 4, 1969 in Lippetal as Jürgen Göbel ) is a German pop singer.

History

His career began in 1996 when he sent a demo tape to his future producer Hanne Haller. Shortly thereafter, he joined with his single " Planet Of Blue" at the German preselection for the Euro Vision Song Contest 1996, which he won with 37.9 % of votes. However, to participate in the competition, there was not, because this year could start only 23 of the original 30 participating countries and Germany did not qualify. In 1997 he was second in the German preliminary decision with his song "Sparkle ( My small flashlight ) ." In the following years, Leon released several singles and albums and has appeared in various television programs.
