Leon Wegner

Leon Wegner ( born March 31, 1824 in Poznan, † July 9, 1873 ) was a lawyer, economist, historian and politician of the Polish population in the Prussian province of Posen.

Life

Leon Wegner studied law in Breslau until 1849. He then worked as a lawyer and then became in-house counsel and general counsel of the archbishop's consistory General in Poznan. He was co-founder and first Secretary General of the Polish Society of Science friends, a board member of the Society for Science Help and author of several political and historical writings.

From 1854 to 1855 and from 1863 to 1873 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives. He was also a 1867 delegates of the constituency Bromberg 5 ( Gniezno, Wongrowitz ) in the Constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation. He belonged to the Polish faction.
