Leonard Maltin

Leonard Maltin ( born December 18, 1950 in New York) is an American film critic and nonfiction author.

Life

At the age of 15 years Maltin began a work for the journal Movie Fan Monthly. According to a journalist's training at the University of New York published Maltin film products in various magazines, newspapers and journals, including the well-known magazines Variety and TV Guide, and soon made ​​a name for himself as an excellent film critic.

As an author, Maltin has become best known for his compendium Leonard Maltin 's Movie and Video Guide, which is updated constantly since 1969 with film summaries and meetings and also appears annually since 1988. He also wrote books about the art of film ( Behind the Camera, The Whole Movie Sourcebook, Leonard Maltin 's Movie Encyclopedia and Of Mice and Magic: A History of American Animated Cartoons ( German edition in the bibliography below) ).
