Leonard Nimoy
Leonard Simon Nimoy ( born March 26, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actor, film director, film producer and photographer.
Life
The son of Orthodox Jewish, Yiddish -speaking immigrants (Parents: Dora Spinner and Max Nimoy ) from Ukraine began his career as a child actor in his native town and later studied acting at Boston College. In 1951, he got a first small role in the film Queen for a Day and then played in various films and the theater.
A wide audience he is best known for his role as the Vulcan Mr. Spock in the Star Trek series, for which he was nominated three times for an Emmy. He also played roles in television series such as " Columbo " and " TJ Hooker ". Also, Nimoy also worked as a director. He received in 1987 the U.S. price " ShoWest Award" for Three Men and a Baby, the American remake of the French feature film Three Men and a Baby.
In 1954 he married actress Sandra (Sandy ) Zober ( 1927-2011 ). From this marriage, which lasted until 1987, had two children, Leonard Nimoy's son is the director Adam Nimoy. His second wife was the actress Susan Bay in 1988.
In 1967 the record presents Leonard Nimoy Mr. Spock 's Music from Outer Space, on the Nimoy also sang himself. Since then, he has released ten albums, including titles such as If I Had a Hammer by Pete Seeger, Put a Little Love in Your Heart by Jackie DeShannon and Gentle on My Mind by John Hartford.
After the deposition of Star Trek Nimoy played in the secret agent series Mission: Impossible as you Paris. He thus replaced from Martin Landau, who had demanded too high a salary. Landau the role of Spock had then been offered, but he refused.

In 2007, Nimoy announced that he would take over the role of Spock in the eleventh Star Trek movie a second time. The film was released in theaters on May 7, 2009.
2009 and 2010, Nimoy played for seven episodes of the role of Dr. William Bell in the series Fringe - limiting cases of the FBI. He returned to the TV screen after he was last seen in 2001 in the series Becker.
In April 2010, the then 79 -year-old Nimoy announced his departure from the active work as an actor and wished Zachary Quinto every success in further illustration of Spock in future Star Trek productions. Despite this statement, he played in 2013 again in the sequel to Star Trek Into Darkness in a cameo Spock.
On the official "Star Trek Convention " in Rosemont Christopher Lloyd announced in October 2010 that Leonard Nimoy will soon be available for another appearance (along with him) at Fringe front of the camera.
2012 Nimoy said in a guest appearance on The Big Bang Theory in a dream sequence as the protagonist Spock Sheldon Cooper.
Nimoy has received several awards during his career. In 2009 he was honored at the Saturn Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The following year he won the award for Best TV guest star in a series. He was honored with the Life Career Award early as 1989.
In 1985 him a star on the Walk of Fame was awarded.

German dubbing voice
Leonard Nimoy's roles were mostly spoken in German dubbed versions by actor Herbert Weicker. The German -speaking Spock is heard with Weickers voice, with the exception of dubbings that were synchronized by Norbert Gescher, and in the ZDF synchronization of the Star Trek animated series in which it Christian Rode said. In the eleventh movie Star Trek Nimoy is resynchronized of Gescher. In the latest movie Star Trek Into Darkness Nimoy is spoken by Fred Maire.
