Leonard Piontek

Leonard Franz Piontek ( born October 3, 1913 in Chorzów, † July 1, 1967 ibid ) was a Polish football player of the World Cup 1938 in France.

His entire career as a striker, he spent in a single association, which has changed its name several times during his career - ( AKS Krolewska Huta / Chorzów, FV Germania Chorzów, AKS Chorzow / Chorzów ).

With his club several Silesian master has become and in 1937 he won as a newly promoted to second place in the Polish 1st League.

During the Second World War he was with his team's three -time champion of the Gauliga Upper Silesia and then took part with Germania to the German championship.

In the national team he came in the years 1937-1939 to 17 international matches, in which he scored eleven goals. He also took part in the World Cup 1938 in France. His first international game he played on 23 June 1937 in Warsaw against Sweden ( 3-1 ), in which he scored his first international goal also.

After the cessation of active career, he worked as a football coach.
