Leonardo Basile

Leonardo Basile ( born May 12, 1983 in Naples ) is an Italian Taekwondoin. It starts at heavyweight.

Basile scored his first international success in 2000, he won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in Killarney. The following year he started in Jeju for the first time at a World Cup in the adult area, left there however in the second round. The breakthrough in the international forefront finally managed Basile at the 2005 World Championships in Madrid, where he reached the semifinals and won the bronze medal. The following year he also won bronze at the European Championships in Bonn. Basile could qualify in Beijing in 2008 for the Olympic Games, but there different from in his opening bout.

His biggest success so far sporty Basile at the 2012 European Championship in Manchester. With a final victory over Ivan Trajković he became European Champion for the first time.
