Leonardo Cordeiro

Leonardo Santos Cordeiro ( born November 8, 1989 in São José dos Campos ) is a Brazilian racing driver. It was 2009 South American Formula 3 champion. He joined in 2010 and 2011 in the GP3 Series.

Career

Like most racers began Cordeiro his career in karting, where he was active from 2003 to 2006. In 2007 he moved to Formula racing and started for Lecor Sports in the South American Formula 3 Championship. After he had occupied the 17th place overall in his first season, he moved in 2008 to champion team Cesário Fórmula. The Brazilian decided a race for himself, was standing with another seven races and finished on the podium at the end of the season fourth overall behind his team-mate Pedro Enrique, who was runner-up. 2009 remained the racers at Cesário Fórmula and denied his third season, he dominated the season, winning 10 of 18 races and secured the league title before Claudio Cantelli in the South American Formula 3.

2010 moved Cordeiro to Europe in the newly founded GP3 Series. He started as a teammate of Michael Christensen and Miki Monras for MW Arden. He scored only one point and finished in 27th place overall. 2011 Cordeiro denied his second GP3 season for Carlin. He had no points and finished the season starting on the 30th place in the driver standings.
