Leontina Vaduva

Leon Tina Văduva, actually Liliana Ciobanu, ( born November 29, 1960 in Roşiile, Circle Vâlcea ) is a French soprano of Romanian origin.

Life

Leon Tina Văduva was born under the name Liliana Ciobanu as the daughter of Romanian folk singer Maria Ciobanu. She went with her mother in numerous television shows, and completed her studies at the Conservatory of Music in Bucharest from before 1984 left Romania. In 1985 she won the first prize for singing the city of Toulouse and debuted in the same year at the Théâtre du Capitole with the role of Manon in the eponymous opera by Jules Massenet, conducted by Michel Plasson.

Manon was her starring role with which she enjoyed great success in Paris, Vienna and Tokyo. With the French repertoire, she has performed throughout Europe. With the Italian repertoire, she celebrated further success. Her rendition of Mimi in La Bohème brought them to the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. With Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, she sang in Toulouse and gained wide recognition.
