Leontine Sagan

Leontine Sagan ( born February 13, 1889 in Budapest, Austria - Hungary, as Leontine Schlesinger, † May 19, 1974 in Pretoria, South Africa) was an Austrian stage and film director.

Life

Leontine Sagan wanted to be an actress, but then trained as a stage director. After they had staged a number of stage productions of women authors, they processed Christa Winsloes boarding school drama yesterday and today, she had already staged for Victor Barnowsky as a stage play in 1931 for her first film. Girls in uniform, with Hertha Thiele and Dorothea Wieck in the lead roles, was an outstanding success.

Your second film Men of Tomorrow turned Leontine Sagan in England for Alexander Korda's London Films production company, with Zoltan Korda's brother as co- director. Men of Tomorrow played in the scientist milieu of Oxford, the leading roles were occupied by Maurice Braddell and Joan Gardner. In a supporting role Merle Oberon was seen, which should be released with this film as a star.

Then Leontine Sagan returned to stage work. In 1948 she moved permanently over to South Africa where she co-founded the National Theatre Organisation. 2010 Sagan published memoirs light and shadow.
