Leopold Skulski

Leopold Skulski (* November 15, 1877 in Zamość, † probably 1939/1940 in Brest) was a Polish chemist, politician and Prime Minister.

Skulski studied until 1906 at the University of Karlsruhe and settled after studying in Łódź. He participated in the gymnastics club Sokol and 1915 in Łódź founded the National Association ( Zjednoczenie Narodowe ), a grouping that politically the Endecja was close to 1916 member of the Międzypartyjne Kolo Polityczne ( Zwischenparteilicher Political circle) was.

In January 1917 he was elected to the City Council of the City of Łódź and appointed to the post of second mayor, later the first mayor, and then the Mayor.

In 1919 he became a deputy of the National Constituent Assembly, and from December 13, 1919 and July 9, 1920 Prime Minister of Poland. From July 24 1920 to 28 June 1921, he was Minister of the Interior in the Wincenty Witos government, in 1925 a member of the State Tribunal. He was one of the founders of Polskie Radio AG and in the 1930s the Board ( until 1936 ). After the outbreak of war he fled to Pinsk, where he was interned by the Soviets invading from the east, the NKVD handed over and transferred to Brest. He was probably murdered 1939-1940 by the Soviet power.
