Leopoldo Pirelli

Leopoldo Pirelli ( born August 27, 1925 in Velate Varesino; † 23 January 2007 Portofino ) was an Italian entrepreneur.

Leopoldo Pirelli, younger son of the Pirelli heir, Piero Pirelli (1881-1956), took over after the accidental death of his brother Giovanni in 1970 the sole guidance of his grandfather in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli ( 1848-1932 ) founded the Group Pirelli & C. SpA, is dedicated to the manufacture of products made of rubber. 1992 Pirelli handed management of the company to Marco Tronchetti Provera, the former husband of his daughter Cecilia. Pirelli itself remained until 1996 Chairman of the Supervisory Board and was then until his death Honorary Chairman of the tire manufacturer.
