Leopoldsteinersee

The Leopoldsteinersee is a mountain lake in Styria, about four kilometers northwest of the city of iron ore. It is situated in 628 m above sea level at the foot of the sea wall in the western high Schwab group. The lake is 1,400 meters long and 370 meters wide, its deepest point is 31 m. By the lake flows the Seebach, however, it is mainly fed by underground springs.

Bears the name of the lake due to the nearby castle Leopold stone.

Saga

In the vicinity of this lake a legend to have been caught by an Aquarius. To buy his liberty, he showed his captors an iron ore deposits, just a few kilometers away Erzberg. Then he disappeared into the water manhole.
