Lepismium warmingianum

Lepismium warmingianum is a species of the genus Lepismium in the cactus family ( Cactaceae ).

Description

Lepismium warmingianum growing epiphytic and shrubby with initially upright, later arching stems that are branched rich. The slender, dark green shoots segments are three - or four -edged or flat. They are 30 inches long and have diameters of 0.7 to 2.5 centimeters. The blunt- toothed edges are reddish. The not deeply sunken areoles are bald.

The laterally appearing, single, white flowers are bell-shaped and hanging. They are 1-2 inches long and achieve just such diameter. Your Perikarpell is edgy. The spherical, dark purple to black fruits have a diameter of 5-6 millimeters.

Distribution, systematics and hazard

Lepismium warmingianum is in Brazil, distributed in eastern Paraguay and northeastern Argentina at altitudes up to 1100 meters. The first description as rhipsalis warmingiana in 1890 by Karl Moritz Schumann. Wilhelm Barthlott she put 1987 in the genus Lepismium.

Lepismium is warmingianum in the Red List of Threatened Species IUCN as "Least Concern ( LC) ," ie, not compromised classified.
