Leptokarya

Leptokarya (Greek Λεπτοκαρυά ) is a town with 3700 inhabitants at the Thermaikos Gulf and at the foot of Mount Olympus in the municipality of Dion Olympos in Greek region Central Macedonia. It is the seat of the municipal district Anatolikos Olympos. The village is situated on the coast between Platamonas and Skotina in the south and Litochoro in the north, east of I 75 Katerini located 26 km north. East of the E 75 there is the "old" Leptokarya ( Palea Leptokarya ), as well as the archaeological site Leibethra ( Livithra - Λείβηθρα ). On winding roads, you can also get into the massif of Mount Olympus. There is the popular tourist café Livithra and continue on the road to the monastery in the mountains Karya Kanalon. Leptokarya also has a railway station of the OSE.

About Regional importance Leptokarya has attracted through the Argos Zodhiates Bible Camp or Katerini 's Evangelical Church Camp, the Protestant Greeks from all over the world. There is also the Synod of the Greek Evangelical Church meets.

Tourism

Clean water every year many tourists come to Leptokarya. The beaches are pebbly, for the most part.
