Leptonetidae

Tayshaneta anopica

The Leptonetidae family includes 192 relatively primitive haplogyne species in 15 genera, which lack the sclerotized plate on the genital opening ( epigynum ) of the female. The family is not well known to the specialists. Leptonetiden mostly tiny, six eyes, which are arranged in a symmetric semi-circle, the four front and two rear. Many lives in caves or the scattering layer. You are in the Mediterranean, represented in Eurasia, Japan and America. The most species-rich genus in Europe is Leptoneta Simon, 1872 ( Platnick, 2005). So far, the only kind in Central Europe was demonstrated ( view et al., 2004) with Protoleptoneta italica (Simon, 1907) in Austria.
