Features

Butterfly

The moths reach a wingspan of about 24 to 27 millimeters. Characteristic of the style are thin tail on Analwinkel. The upper wing of the males are slightly blue to blue-gray, occasionally with a purplish sheen, while the females only in the basal region have a weak blue color that merges into a gray -brown color to the outside. The hind wings show on the tops of the Analwinkel two black, white edged ocelli, one of which is often very indistinct. On the hind wing surface is a net-like, brownish or gray drawing, but no whitish binding includes at base of tail two orange, blue nucleated eye spots are visible.

The egg is yellowish in color and shows a fine mesh grid structure. When the caterpillar green or brownish-colored specimens are found. They have a dark dorsal line and also dark slashes. The doll has a yellowish color, from brown to stand out some drawing elements.

Similar Species

The moths of Great Wanderbläulings ( Lampides boeticus ) are significantly larger with a wingspan of about 28 to 35 millimeters. On the hindwing underside is also located in this type of a narrow whitish binding.

Dissemination

The Little Wanderbläuling comes in the Mediterranean, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and to the east by Asia prior to India. He also colonized many areas in Africa. The species is not native to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Nevertheless, it appears in some large time intervals as migrant moths in these countries. The animals living in hot, dry places or in Lucerne fields.

Way of life

The moths fly in several generations per year and can be found from February to October. The caterpillars live in different, partly country-specific plants to which various legumes ( Fabaceae ), rose family ( Rosaceae ), plumbago plants ( Plumbaginaceae ), Lythraceae ( Lythaceae ) and heather family ( Ericaceae ) count.
