Lequidoe

Lequidoe ( Liquidoe, Liquedoe ) is a place, an administrative center and sub-district in the southeast of the East Timorese district Aileu.

The place

Lequidoe is located in mountainous terrain in the Suco Fahisoi, at an altitude of 1216 m above the sea, 16 km southeast of the provincial capital Dili and about 9 km north-east of the district capital Aileu. It consists of the districts Lequidoe, Aituin, Ereluli, Tatilsame, Lokotui, Fahisoi, Dailorluta ( Dailorluti ) and Daulalan ( Daufalan ). There is a primary school and a pre- secondary school.

The administrative center

The administrative center of the sub-district is located in the Suco Namolesso and after the sub-district also called Lequidoe. It consists of the settlements Daro, Aitoin ( Aitoi ) Lacabou, Serema ( Seema ), Maucurunamo ( Maukuruaamo, Maukurunamo ) and Gariqai ( Guriqui ). There is a community health center, a helipad and a primary school, the Escola Primaria Namuleso.

The subdistrict

The subdistrict Lequidoe located in the southeast of the district Aileu. To the west lies the subdistrict Aileu, in the north Remexio, in the east of the district Manatuto and southern districts Ainaro and Manufahi.

Lequidoe divided into seven Sucos on: Acubilitoho, Bereleu, Betulau, Fahisoi, Faturilau, Manucassa ( Manucasa, Manukasa ) and Namolesso ( Namoleso, Namleso ).

In Subdistrict live 6,267 inhabitants (2010, 2004: 5,819 inhabitants). The average age is 17.7 years ( 2010, 2004: 16.0 years ). The largest language group consists of the speakers of the national language Mambai.

85 % of households grow cassava, 85% corn, 71 % coffee, 66 % vegetables and 28 % coconuts.

The administrator of the sub-district shall be appointed by the Central Government in Dili. In February 2014 this is Domingos verdial.

With the Australian Campaspe Shire the subdistrict Lequidoe connects a partnership.

History

On August 30, 1976, in Madabate ( Lequidoe ) the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Guido Valadares along with three other men through a mine killed. He was buried two days later in Bereleu.

When you place Lequidoe there was the end of 1979 an Indonesian resettlement camp for East Timorese should be relocated for better control of the occupiers.

On 31 August 1999 units of the Indonesian Police Mobile Brigade ( Brimob ) came in four villages in the subdistrict Lequidoe and began to shoot into the air. Pro- Indonesian militias were added, ordered the people to leave their villages and set fire to the houses.
