The Lerkendal Stadium is the home stadium of Rosenborg Trondheim and after the Ullevaal Stadium, the second largest in Norway.
The construction of the stadium was planned as early as 1933, but only after the Second World War in 1947, the stadium was built and opened on August 10, still 1947.
Between 1961 and 1963 years, the stadium was renovated in 1968 and equipped with floodlights.
The stadium was in 1995/96 demolished and a modern stadium for fewer viewers, but built with VIP boxes and only with seating. Between 2000 and 2002, the stadium was converted into a pure football stadium and renewed three of the four stands and extended. Until then, the stadium was also used by the Trondheim athletes.
In October 1985, found during a match of Rosenborg against Lillestrøm SK 28,560 spectators in the stadium.
