Leroy Fer ( born January 5, 1990 in Zoetermeer ) is a Dutch football player. Since 2013 he plays at Norwich City in the Premier League.

Leroy Fer's parents came from the Netherlands Antilles, Suriname was a grandfather. In his native town of Zoetermeer Fer began at the local club DWO with the football game. Even in the E1 youth he moved to Feyenoord, where he finished his schooling next to the football. Even as A -teenager, he joined the second team of the Rotterdam. The strong players - at 1.88 meters tall, he weighed 85 kg at 20 years - is considered to be dynamic and strong in the air.
Feyenoord coach Bert van Marwijk took the 17 -year-olds in late 2007 into the first team, as his team was decimated due to several injury failures. December 2, 2007 Leroy Fer made his debut in the Eredivisie. In the home match against Heracles Almelo van Marwijk moved him five minutes before the end of the game for Nuri Şahin, as the final score of 6-0 had already been decided. Under the new coach Mario Been Fer changed in the season 2009/10 the left defensive midfield position, which had taken in the preseason usually Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who in return moved to the position of left-back. In 31 Eredivisie games - one fewer than the two central defender Andre Bahia and Ron Vlaar and as many as his contemporary Georginio Wijnaldum - he came into this season on two goals.
In the 2010/11 season was Fer representative of team captain Ron Vlaar. Overall, he completed until August 2011 for Feyenoord 103 league games in which he scored 14 goals. At the end of the summer period TransFair Fer moved to league rivals FC Twente Enschede after, with whom he signed a three -year contract.
On July 13, 2013 it was announced that Leroy will be available from the 2013/2014 season at Norwich City under contract.
National
With the Dutch U -17 Leroy Fer took in 2007 at the U-17 European Football Championships 2007 Belgium part. In the same year he played in the U-19 national team. In spring 2009, he was appointed Johan Neeskens in the short-lived B- team and put him as a substitute in the 0-0 draw against Italy's under-21 team.
After the 2010 World Cup called Bond coach Bert van Marwijk Fer for the match in Donetsk on 11 August 2010 against Ukraine for the first time in the squad of the national team. Since the game was promptly on the World Cup final, van Marwijk had waived the player used at the World Cup. In the 63rd minute, he made his debut in Oranje, when he came off the bench in the 1-1 draw for Siem de Jong.
