Les Bouchoux

Les Bouchoux is a commune in the French department of Jura in the Franche -Comté. It is the capital of the Canton of Les Bouchoux in the arrondissement of Saint -Claude.

Geography

Les Bouchoux is located at 950 meters above sea level. M., about ten kilometers south-southwest of the town of Saint- Claude ( a straight line ). The farming village extends in the Jura, on a ridge on the eastern side of the valley of the Tacon, at the foot of the height of the Croix des couloirs.

History

Several findings indicate that the municipality of Les Bouchoux was already inhabited during the Roman period.
