The two shy is a silent comedy from director René Clair from the year 1928. Literary template provided Eugène Labiche and Marc Michel with its play A picture hat ( 1851).

Action

A shy lawyer defending an accused, the ill-treatment of his wife is accused. At the height of his summation he is overthrown by the emergence of a mouse in confusion, that he ultimately contributes to the conviction of his client.

Background

The film was released on 1 March 1929 in France for the first time in the cinema.

Shortly before director René Clair had the same story filmed in 1928 under the title The Florentine Hat ( Un chapeau de paille d' Italie) with great success. 1943 was created under the title Les Deux timides Yves Allégret another remake.

Georges Delerue composed in 1952 for this film, a film music.
