Les Holroyd

Richard Leslie " Les " Holroyd ( born March 12, 1948 in Oldham, England ) is a British singer, songwriter, composer and bassist and keyboardist, best known as the founder and member of the British progressive rock band Barclay James Harvest ( BJH ).

Holroyd had already met in preschool on his later school and BJH colleagues Mel Pritchard and brought up as a child first even guitar and later bass playing at. Later, he also dominates the instruments cello and keyboards. With Pritchard, he founded the school band Heart And Soul And The Wickeds, known simply as (The) Wickeds, and 1966 with him, John Lees and Woolly Wolstenholme, the band The Blues Keepers, from 1967, the group Barclay James Harvest emerged.

In January 2010, Holroyd went live in Alan Simon's rock opera Excalibur - The Celtic Rock Opera on, where he met, among others, alongside Simon on Johnny Logan, Alan Parsons, John Helliwell ( Supertramp ), Andreas Vollenweider and Fairport Convention. In November of the same year he acted as Henry VII of England live in Simon's rock opera Anne de Bretagne. In January 2011, Holroyd joined the Rock Meets Classic tour, where he met Ian Gillan, Lou Gramm, Dan McCafferty and the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague: He played the BJH Songs: Hymn, Mockingbird, Ring Of Changes and Life Is For Living.

During his career with orchestral influence Holroyd has been heavily influenced by artists such as Toto, Chicago or Phil Collins.
