Les Mureaux

Les Mureaux is a French town in the department of Yvelines 39 km west of Paris with 30 739 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). It is located in the canton of Meulan at an altitude of about 18 to 53 meters.

Geography

Les Mureaux is on the low-lying level of the Seine on the left bank of the river about 40 km west of Paris.

The city has a road access to the railway line from Paris to Rouen, as well as links with the A13 motorway through Normandy. Les Mureaux has a small airfield outside the urban area.

Demographics

The population of the catchment area located in the middle of Paris city grew on average until the beginning of the 1990s. Since then, the population has declined slightly. 60% of the flats have been built in social housing.
