Les Neyrolles

Les Neyrolles is a commune in the French department of Ain, in the Rhône -Alpes.

Geography

Les Neyrolles is located on 525 m above sea level. M., about three kilometers southeast of Nantua and 13 km south of the city Oyonnax (air line). The village is located in the Haut- Bugey, in the Jura, in the deep cluse de Nantua, a transverse valley by the Jura chain, the creek Doye (tributary of Lac de Nantua ).

History

Since the Middle Ages Les Neyrolles was under the suzerainty of the Counts of Savoy. The Treaty of Lyon reached the village in 1601 to France. The water power of Doye has been since the 18th century, used for the operation of mills, including a paper mill.
