Les Noces

Les Noces (Russian Свадебка, Swadebka; German and Peasant Wedding ) is a dance cantata, or ballet with song by Igor Stravinsky, he has composed 1914-1917.

The instrumentation of the work was only completed in 1923. The libretto was written by Stravinsky himself He used Russian Wedding poems he chose mainly of a collection of Ivan Vasilyevich Kirejewski ( 1806-1856 ).

The ballet was premiered on June 13, 1923 at the Théâtre de la Gaîté - Lyrique in Paris by the Ballets Russes in the choreography by Bronislava Nijinska, was conductor Ernest Ansermet.

The work consists of four panels that are played without interruption. The performance lasts about 25 minutes.
