Les Planchettes

Les Planchettes is a municipality in the district of La Chaux -de-Fonds in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland.

Geography

Les Planchettes lies on 1'063 meters above sea level. Level, 5 km west of the district capital of La Chaux -de-Fonds (air line). The farming village stretches along the northern slope of the Pouillerel in the Neuchâtel Jura, around 400 m above the deep valley of the Doubs.

The area of ​​11.7 km ² large municipality area includes the northern slope of the Pouillerel, which is relatively flat, very steep and partially crossed at the top of the lower part of rock bands. Population

With 228 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Les Planchettes one of the small communities of the Canton of Neuchâtel. Of the 91.1 % inhabitants are French-speaking, German-speaking 7.1 % and 0.9 % speak Dutch ( as of 2000).

Economy

Les Planchettes is still a mainly coined by farming village, with livestock and dairy farming predominate. Outside the primary sector, there are some jobs in the local small businesses and in two power plants on the river Doubs. Some employed persons are also commuters and work in nearby La Chaux -de-Fonds.

Traffic

The community is located far away from the major thoroughfares. The main access is from La Chaux -de-Fonds. By Postbus course, which runs from La Chaux -de-Fonds to Les Planchettes and at times up Biaufond on the Doubs, the village is connected to the public transport network.

History

The area of Les Planchettes was reclaimed only after the 15th century by settlers from the Val de Ruz and the Vallée des Ponts. The farms were under the jurisdiction of the rule Valanginian, which finally came to Neuchâtel in 1592.
