Lesia Tsurenko

Lesia Tsurenko (* May 30, 1989 in Juschnoukrajinsk, Mykolaiv Oblast, then Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian tennis player.

Career

At the age of six years Lesia Tsurenko began playing tennis, age 17, moved to Kiev. She studied first three semesters sports become teacher. Since 2007 she is a professional tennis player.

In 2008, she won two singles and three doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In 2010 she won the ITF tournament in Minsk in 2011 was followed by another single title in Tbilisi, Istanbul and Bratislava. In 2009, three doubles and 2010, two additional titles were added in ITF tournaments. On the WTA tour she has been able to gain no tournament.

After their semi-finals at the WTA tournament in Brisbane at the beginning of the year 2013, where they defeated Anastassja Pavlyuchenkova in three sets, Tsurenko stood first among the top 100 of the women's tennis. By reaching the third round in the subsequent Australian Open, she celebrated her best performance at a Grand Slam tournament. On 15 July 2013, it achieved its best ever position in the WTA world rankings with space 60.

Since 2011 Tsurenko plays for Ukraine in Fed Cup. She won three of their eleven matches in singles and one of three double batches (as of March 2014).
